Searching for your new best friend? Start with these established rescue groups. They will guide you to your perfect choice. Rescue groups, especially ones whose pets are living in foster homes rather than a shelter situation, will know which pets are active or couch potatoes, which are leash trained and which know nothing about it, ones most likely potty trained and ones who need help in that area. They will know which pets get along with other pets and which ones tolerate another species, such as cats and dogs. They'll know a lot but they won't know everything. They might tell you the pet is house trained but at your house it might be a different story for a day or two. Your new rescued pet will need time and patience to relax into a new life and to forget the past. Most of all your new pet will need your unconditional love.
